The Korean Broadcasters Association, Blocko, and AERGO signs MOU to build the first of it’s kind blockchain based audience participation application

On 23 April the Korean Broadcasters Association, Blocko and AERGO foundation signed an MOU to build a blockchain-based global viewer participation service application on the AERGO platform.

The Korean Broadcasters Association plans to create a variety of viewer-participation services, in the media content area, using blockchain-based app development. The association especially focuses on introducing a voting system to select the winners for Korea Broadcasting Prizes and the Seoul International Drama Awards based on the AERGO platform.

Kyeong-Tae Kim, the secretary general of the Korean Broadcasters Association, stated that, “Reliability is key in the industry and expects to create a new, trustworthy voting system where viewers can directly participate by incorporating blockchain technology.”

The app service plans to support English, Chinese, Japanese and other languages for overseas viewers so that overseas fans can participate and communicate directly online.
